Something to think about

I'm sure that most people who stumble across this won't have the time (or take the time) to read it. I'm going to post it anyway, mostly because I need to keep reminding myself about the things that are going on in the world that I don't see everyday. I know that Noah's biological mother loved him very much. I met her. I saw her with him. As much as I love him and as much as I recognize the blessing it is for me that I get to be his mom, I know that he is mine simply because she couldn't feed him. There's something about that fact that leaves me very unsettled. A mom shouldn't have to give up her child because there isn't enough food. I can't even imagine what that would be like. Even if you don't have time to read this article, please say a little prayer for the children of Haiti and their moms who are trying to feed them so that they don't have to watch them die.

Heart-wrenching! What can we do? It broke my heart to read that. I get so caught up in my own USA life that I neglect to remember what other countries have to suffer. We are so blessed to have Noah, he is so blessed to be alive, but his poor biological mom! She's one amazing woman to be able to sacrifice so much to be able to give her son life. She's my hero! But my heart breaks for her and others like her.

Julie, thank you for sharing, I do hope to meet Darline's parents when she comes home to us. But, I can't imagine what they (our birthmothers) have gone thru to make the decision to give them child a new home.

i am so gald you decided to share. i think we all need a little reminder about what we have and how blessed we are. we cant ever underestimate the power of the love a mom has for her childern. noahs mom sacrificed for her child just like the lord gave his life for us. she knew that the lord would bless noah and give him to parents that will love him and take care of him. you and phil are great parents.
