Another discovery

The original objects of my intense searching are still missing in action and I am growing more stumped by the minute. It's starting to look like the bag with said items inside may have been discarded to the garbage can or recycle bin. I have a hard time believing that's what happened, but at this point I can't think of a more plausible explanation.

While taking a break from searching last night, I came upon a solitary box stored under the bed in our guest bedroom. The only other thing I keep under that bed is a long Rubbermaid container that holds all of my wrapping paper and supplies. I decided it's time to start wrapping some of our gifts before more of them start disappearing so I pulled the wrapping paper box out from under the bed and noticed this other box. Out of curiosity, I pulled it out to see what it might contain. Imagine my surprise when I found a slew of hidden Christmas presents past, most of which had been put away becuase Adam wasn't quite old enough for them when I first bought them. I know all of this losing and finding is starting to make me look like I live a life of complete chaos, but in reality it's not that bad and I'm really not that unorganized. (Hush Phil!) I swear that this box has not been under that bed for long. I pull out that wrapping paper box for every birthday and if that box had been there all along, I would have seen it because there's nothing else under that bed. How it got there is just as big of a mystery as how that other bag o'gifts has so completely disappeared. I'm thinking that I can at least replace the lost gifts with these newly found ones and I'm almost even.

Soooooo??!? Do tell!!! Was is the long-lost tool set?? I've been dying to know where that went for years now. What kinds of goodies did you find in that box? I'm so excited.

Ding! Ding! Ding! It WAS the long lost tool set. What the heck? There was also a remote control car, a couple of books and cartridges for Adam's PowerBook that Noah now loves, and a dinosaur sticker book. Can you believe that? I think there's a gift ghost roaming my house laughing at my expense.

No Way!! That tool set bugged even me. It's great that things are turning up, but a little disconcerting at the same time. If those other gifts were thrown into the garbage I just don't even know what to say. I think it might make me angry. Just maybe.

Well, I don't feel so bad after reading about your "Losts and Founds". I came across a lot of things that I bought after Christmas (last, or maybe before?) that I had bought for co-worker or neighbor gifts, and completely forgot about them. Some are even wrapped -- and I have no idea what is inside them. Should I unwrap them and find out, or should I just have a unknown gift exchange party? Big decisions!!
