Just Call Him Ansel Adams

Yesterday we were summoned to Adam's school. Not always is such a summons a good thing, but in this case we were invited to attend an assembly where Adam was going to be awarded a prize for his entry in the Reflections contest. Imagine our surprise when we got there and learned that not only did he get a prize, but he won first place in the photography category for his age group. Nice work, Adam. Typical Adam, he didn't appear to enjoy the festivities at all. He HATES being the center of attention (unless he's among close friends at which point he borders on obnoxious in his pursuit of getting the laugh) and he was clearly uncomfortable when he had to go to the front of the student body to pick up his trophy. It was all I could do to get him to stand still long enough to get this picture afterwards. Also typical Adam, once we got home he was clearly VERY excited about his new status as a trophy owner.

For those of you who missed it the first time around, here's the winning entry. He called it, of all things, The Cool, Blue Lion.

Congratulations, Adam! You're a very talented kid. I already knew that though because I had the honor of being your Primary teacher and could tell then that you were going to do some great things.
