Noah the pragmatist

So yesterday I had a bit of a meltdown with my boys and once the guilt had set in I asked both of them to sit down with me and help me figure out a way for all of us - especially me - to stop yelling so much. Here are their suggestions:

Adam: Maybe instead of yelling we can say "please" and "thank-you" and "your welcome" and other nice things.

Noah: How 'bout we just keep yelling until our voices don't work anymore and then we will stop?

Phil's calls Noah our pragmatist. After this comment I would have to agree with him on that point.

it is none of my business but in our family, we have come to the mistaken conclusion that "in a state of anger we have all come to beleive that we are right in our conclusions", -we all need to be right so anger has become a habit-....for the last few months i have been preaching to one and all that ths is the case and in contradiction i have preached that "if we are angry we are automaticaly WRONG" i have made a few convers and it has helped, i could be wrong but i leave that with you for what ever value it may have...good luck.

I love reading your blog. (I work with Phil... and I played computer games with Noah last week). I hope one day I will be blessed with boys as good as yours and that I will be able to keep humor as well as you and Phil do. I really look up to you guys.
