One small step for the courier and one giant leap towards Noah's visa!

The DHL status line for our package for yesterday:

10/9/2007 9:03 am: With delivery courier

10/9/2007 10:53 am: Shipment delivered!!!!

The exclamation points on that last line were added by me for dramatic effect. I got to work this morning and found an email from Kathi letting me know that they took the documents straight to the consulate and they are expecting to get Noah's visa either today or tomorrow. It ain't over 'til it's over, but things are looking up for a pre-Halloween homecoming. The flights could get tricky, but we are going to do our best to work something out.

Phil is going to Baltimore next Thursday and won't be back until Sunday, the 21st. The family trip is leaving for Haiti from Florida on the 22nd. If Phil is going to make the family trip, he needs to somehow get to Florida by about 9:00 a.m. on the 22nd. We are going to try to figure out a way for him to go to Florida from Baltimore rather than flying back to Salt Lake City and immediately catching an overnight flight back to Florida. I really have no idea if any of that is even feasible, but at this point I'm certainly willing to ask. If it all works, he will be back in Utah with Noah on October 25th.

Yesterday was Phil and my 15th anniversary. He sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers that made me smile all day. I'll see if I can get a picture of them on here sometime today. We then spent the evening with about 30 other people at a church meeting. Wooo-hoooooooo!!! A few people thought we were crazy for going to the meeting, but our big anniversary plans are for this week-end so last night didn't bother either of us too much. Fifteen years is a long time, but I'm convinced more all the time that I married the right guy. I don't know much about marriage and relationships, but I know for sure that 90% of the struggle that you may encounter in a marriage can be successfully resolved if you marry the right one; and I don't mean there is one person out there for everybody and you have to find the "right" one. I simply mean that if you marry a guy who is willing to work through the struggles with you, everything will be just fine. Phil is probably more willing than I am sometimes, and I am so grateful that he is the guy I picked. I'm even more grateful that he picked me.
