He's thinking long term

A conversation that I had with Adam as he was headed out the door to school a couple of days ago:

Adam: I asked Emily* to be my girlfriend yesterday.
Me: You did what?
Adam: I asked Emily to be my girlfriend.
Me: Aren't you a little young for that?
Adam: No. I have to get married someday, ya know, so I need to start with a girlfriend.
Me: That doesn't have to happen for a very looooooong time though.
pause as we open the door for him to leave
Me: What did she say when you asked her?
Adam: She said she would tell me her answer today. (and he runs out the door giggling)

*sigh*

Same here - I just keep forgetting to ask him. I'll for sure post it when I find out though.

Oh my heavens - NO ADAM!!!!!!! Actually it's quite cute. But I'm very surprised - I would have pegged him for a bachelor for quite a few years - at least until 17 or so. Good for him!

I had a steady boyfriend in 1st grade that took me to the movies every Saturday. And even though I had several boyfriends through high school and after -- and sometimes 2 or 3 at the same time, I didn't get married until I was 24(quite a few years older than either of my sisters). So you never can tell !!!

I love that the conversation ended with him giggling and running out the door.

There's the Adam we know and love.
